Richard Carapaz: Giro d’Italia champion to miss Tour of Britain over visa issue

Giro d’Italia winner Richard Carapaz is unable to compete at the Tour of Britain because his visa hasn’t yet been issued at time.
Movistar riders Carapaz has hardly raced since winning in June.
26, the Ecuadorian, was set to race alongside Tour of Britain debutant and Mikel Landa.
Carapaz will combine Team Ineos in the 2020 year, after signing a deal this week.
Movistar mentioned in a statement:”Sadly, despite the Movistar Team following all procedures, Richard Carapaz’s visa for the Tour of Britain hasn’t yet been allowed in time for him to travel to the race, even Hector Carretero will be replacing that the Ecuadorian.”
In joining Team Ineos, Carapaz links up with three other Grand Tour winners – Chris Froome, Geraint Thomas and Egan Bernal – as well as Ben Swift, who signed a contract extension on Friday.
