Floyd Mayweather vs Conor McGregor is on! But is it good for Boxing?
After months of trash talk from both parties towards each other the fight has been officially confirmed. Floyd Mayweather will fight Conor McGregor on 26th August 2017 at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas, but is it good for the sport of Boxing.
In this video Oscar De La Hoya, Gennady Golovkin, Ricky Hatton, Frank Warren, Billy Joe Saunders, Anthony Yarde and Darryll Williams give their opinion on Floyd Mayweather vs. Conor McGregor.
Floyd Mayweather is a five-division, pound-for-pound champion, many claim that Mayweather is one of the best boxers in this era and some even claim that he is one of the greatest boxers in the history of the sport. Conor McGregor on the other hand has a track record of 0-0, never having fought a professional boxing fight in his life, let alone a fight with a world class fighter such as Mayweather.
However, Conor McGregor is undoubtedly one of the biggest if not the biggest names in the UFC and has built a successful career in the sport of MMA, but in the words of Ricky Hatton “they are two different sports”.
This fight will most likely be entertaining and so will the build up to it. However, unless Conor McGregor gets a lucky knock out, this fight can only go one way, another win for Floyd Mayweather making him 50-0.
