Jonny May says he’s not given any thought if he strikes an attempt at St James’ Park.
England face Italy in their final World Cup warm-up in Newcastle on Friday night, live on Sky Sports, with Eddie Jones inclined to field a side ahead of his side’s championship opener against Tonga.
May is currently excited about playing in the house of the Magpies, but says not to anticipate that a comfortable sight if he strikes the whitewash around Tyneside.
“No, I had not ever thought about that yet,” May told Sky Sports when asked of a potential Shearer bash. “I think that it’s really good to engage everyone throughout the country, therefore to go up north and play a match there is brilliant.
“it is a very cool arena, a great deal of history there. I am very enthusiastic about it.”
The winger says it has been a tough pre-season, with the group in Italy this week for a few coaching, and wishes to return to playingwith.
“It’s been a long time arriving. It seems as though we have worked hard for a very long period of time now,” said May.
“We’ve been back in Treviso this week getting some extra tough work in. It is likely to come around quick now.”
The Leicester man is not thinking too much about what Japan says the only thoughts of the team are on winning the trophy, and offers outside of their grounds.
If asked what excites him around Japan, the 29-year-old said:”I just can not wait to have at the stadium and play some French.
“Only to find out, play some rugbyand embrace the atmosphere, play in a World Cup, represent your country – those items are exciting.
“The notion is to summit out there in Japan and to summit in the final. We would like to go out there and get it”
